The Cat Advocates protects homeless, abandoned, neglected, and community cats by providing the care and support they need until they can find permanent homes or safely return to their outdoor colonies.
Our work goes far beyond adoption. We rescue cats in need, provide veterinary care, vaccinate, spay and neuter, foster kittens and adult cats, and match them with loving families. For community cats that are not suited for indoor homes, we use Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) to humanely reduce overpopulation while improving the health and well-being of outdoor cat colonies.
Education is another important part of our mission. We work with the community to promote responsible pet ownership, encourage spay and neuter, support caregivers, and provide resources that help keep cats safe and healthy. We also rely on an incredible network of volunteers, fosters, donors, and local partners whose generosity makes every rescue possible.
By combining rescue, prevention, education, and community involvement, a non-profit cat rescue creates lasting solutions that improve the lives of cats while strengthening the communities they call home. Transporting Cats to Their Forever Homes
Sometimes, the perfect home isn’t just across town—it’s hundreds of miles away.
Our Transport Program partners with trusted rescue organizations and adoption groups in northern states, where there is often a greater demand for adoptable cats and kittens than there are available animals. By safely transporting healthy, fully vetted cats, we can give them a better chance of finding loving forever homes while creating space to rescue even more cats in our local community.
Every cat that travels is spayed or neutered (when age-appropriate), vaccinated, medically evaluated, and prepared for the journey. We work closely with our rescue partners to ensure each cat receives compassionate care from the moment they leave our shelter until they arrive at their new destination.
